Meltdown

Yeah. This upcoming Friday.. (Which is.. tomorrow. Shit.) I'm going to see Disturbed, Chevelle and some other bands. Hopefully, on the very same day, my fencing gear finally arrives, because I am going to participate in my first tournament on Friday the week from that. And I want to use my own gear.
Also, May 1st, I am going to see Amon Amarth, The Absence and some other 2 bands that I don't really know that much about.

Woo, fencing! I'm a swordsmen as well, it's fun to possess exotic & useless skills. Granted, I'm no fencer, I practice sword & dagger fighting.

I think sword and dagger fencing is fucking awesome.

But seriously, do you do tournaments and such? How does that look like,gear wise? You wear masks and jackets?
And more importantly, have you done this for a long time? Are you good?

Well, I don't compete often, I got...4th place, I think last time I did. Usually you wear loose-fitting clothing with minimal padding underneath,(movement is really important, we fight in a ring, as opposed to the...fuck, the name escapes me) who scores a hit on the opponent's torso gets a point, hit the other guy in the head & you lose a point, very basic stuff. I prefer it to standard fencing because a lot more energy goes into it, it's a visceral sport, if you will. Good fun though.

Yeah, I play ice hockey. Not quite as badass as that, but still the fastest team sport ever.

Also a great sport to play.

I want to get in to boxing, I'm pretty fast and I got a good build. I practice in my room, or where ever I feel like it regularly.
My dad taught me fencing a long time ago, if I was ever standing wrong he'd hit me in the back of my calves. I wish I could get back in to it, but then again, why play with swords and rules when you can shoot the mother fucker. Just sayin'.

Or instead of donating time fencing, I'll cut off my arm and attach a biotic chainsaw arm to the stump. Yeah! That's what I'll do.

Alright... Sorry for pretty much disappearing from the face of the Earth like that, but since it's been the last weeks of my semester, my college just fucked my life up with work. Anyways. The tournament went pretty well, considering that I started 4 months ago, and finished 10th out of 18 in senior mixed sabre. I discovered that I do much better if I stay on the defensive, wait for an opening, counter, etc. That made me happy, I know what works for me.
