Meltdown

This is the thread in which I'll be posting the various pages of my sketchbook. Most of them are either freehand or re-imaginings of comic panels & concept art. None of that tracing crap, here.

To kick things off, this strange Desperado Gun Paladin like thing I thought up. Oddly reminiscent of Trigun.


And now, some Deadpool. Yes, I agree, that right leg looks fucking ridiculous...it's cartooning, just roll with it.



A far more stark drawing, this is Frank Castle. Very early in the process, before I began building on the shading at all, really. Re-imagining of this big ass Punisher painting I found from an E3 some years ago.

I'm horrible at drawing people. I can never get the fleshy, organic parts to look correctly. Such as arms and legs and...everything. Roudned objects in 3D fuckign kill my artwork. I suck at shading.

Ah, this sketch. Born out of my current boredom with the idea of drawing firearms in genral, I propsed a challenge for myself: draw a gun that would fit into Bioshock.

Arrogant rant time, so you can better understand this. I liked Bioshock. I did not love it. I thought it was, gameplay wise, a damn near direct port of System Shock 2. Then again, that great, (If aged) gameplay served as a vehicle for a look into the limits of an objectivist political philosophy when applied to the Utopian principle, all supported by an amazingly well envisioned art direction....which did not translate to the hideous weapons. All I'm saying is that the game was too easy & redundant. That said, the background was still impressive & fascinating.

So yeah, I drew a Bioshock gun. I think I'm finally done ranting.
