Meltdown

My baby cousin, 15 months, stepped on my Xbox while I was playing Left 4 Dead and now it's broken. The Xbox is fine, and the rest of my games work but L4D is is well, dead.

It was Game of The Year Edition too! And I got it three days ago!

How could a disc be broken by stepping on the Xbox? Is it soft or something? He's just 15 months, he can't be heavy enough to penetrate it, can he?

If the Xbox is bumped during play, it disembowels disks, because Microsoft are FUCKING MORMONS.

I've dropped my PS3 like 2 times now, nothing's happened so far.
These are the problems I've faced with it so far:


Leaving it on for 3-4 months made Fallout 3 have an FPS rate of like 10 or something, I shut it off for 3 minutes, and it was working fine again.
I had something wrong with it earlier, too... I think it was a harddisk failure. I had to reset the whole thing to fabric state.

Jesus fucking christ. I spent $260 for the premium Rock Band 2 pack, with full drum kit and everything.
My mom nudged the xbox last night, and it ate my fucking disc.

Seriously, is it THAT easy to destroy a disc? I don't get it.
Someone explained to me (Taylor or Nick; I forget.) that the parts inside were arranged in some sort of way that makes it easy for it to break the disc or something, I don't know.
I just don't get it.
Fuck.

You know what I hate?
The fact that Game stores give you so little cash for a returned game, even if it's unused.
I've read somewhere that the Blu-Ray discs for the PS3 have a special coating that makes it really hard to get scratches, so even if the game was used, it should be in good condition. (If you're not one of those pricks who take care of your discs like a fucking moron, leaving them in a pile or on top of the console or some shit. Seriously, leave them in the fucking case. And not just any case, leave it in the CORRECT one, so you don't have to fucking look through all the fucking game cases and find your Halo 2 inside your Rock Band cover. Fuck.)

Something like that, yes. Microsoft made a faulty system, while a pretty solid one, has a lot of tech issues. Like the RROD which OMG HAPPENS ALL THE TIME DERP. And it's really nudging it, but if it's well, STEPPED ON or knocked around pretty hard the laser will burn a ring in to the disc causing it to break.

The 360 is a solid system but fuck it's design and fuck it's shitty hardware.

They're called Microsoft for a reason, they should have stuck to their roots, software. Software is a lot easier to fix faults in than ubiquitous hardware.

They just need to stop being cheap. They use shitty fucking Toshiba DVD drives in the 360... toshiba sucks dick, but it's cheap. Hence the fucked up lasers, hence the eating of discs.
