This is not new at all, but I just thought everyone should know this by now, also the "News" hasn't been posted in for a while so here we go.

Alot of people think the quality of YouTube videos is bad, so heres some tips to help the quality.
NOTE; THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE UP-TO-DATE AND MIGHT NOT BE 100% CORRECT AT SOME SPOTS

YouTube Quality Tips:

When there is no "watch in high quality" sign, add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL for Higher quality.
(Works for both video and sound quality)

Let's say you found this video and want higher quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF7HorSyVDA&feature=related
Remove the &feature=related/or anything else that is followed by a "&", and replace it with &fmt=18
Like so:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF7HorSyVDA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF7HorSyVDA&fmt=18

This is the raw link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF7HorSyVDA

Better sample for High quality Stereo audio, given to me by Taylor earlier today:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRsNZsFQxDw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRsNZsFQxDw&fmt=18
Listen to the one without &fmt=18 for a while first, then try the one with &fmt=18.
Notice the sound quality is alot higher?

November 25th 2008, YouTube changed to Widescreen.
It also seems they added some HD options for Widescreen too.
There's a new one now called the &fmt=22, and it seems to only work on HD 720p videos.
Just check it out.

Highest Quality BEFORE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUQ5bvy7QrI&fmt=6

Highest Quality NOW:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUQ5bvy7QrI&fmt=22

When there IS a "watch in high quality" sign, use &fmt=6 for high quality video.
(Will not give you better sound quality, if you want better sound quality, add &fmt=18 or simply click the high quality button.)

Results may vary.

Also, very good example of high quality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_moia-oVI&fmt=6

EDIT: Apparently &fmt=6 doesn't work anymore.. Oh well I did all I could.
&fmt=22 and &fmt=18 still work, and are good if you want to watch in HD or HQ from the beginning, or wanna send it to a friend and make sure they watch it in high quality.

It's funny, because most videos promoting it don't change when you punch in the code.

Thanks for Stickie
Yay my first stickie, anyway.. Earlier today I tried to use &fmt=18 on a video without a high quality button, and the quality didn't seem to change... I don't really know what's going on.

Also I don't want a :burger:
